Frequently asked Questions
What is the difference between the Empowerment College and other services on offer?
The Empowerment College differs from:
- normal adult education because of its special awareness of the problems and needs of people with mental health problems and the use of peers in education. The Empowerment College uses the method of experienced based learning and everyone learning from each other to a greater extent as most courses in adult education do. The role of the trainers is not the classic role of teachers.
- EX-IN because it’s courses are open to everyone and do not aim to qualify people to work in the care system. Also in the Empowerment College every person can pick and choose the subjects he or she is interested in, whereas EX-IN exists of one single course which covers several subjects.
